Just a few weeks ago we launched a crowdfunding campaign with a bold invitation: join us in fixing water leaks and protecting properties, one smart solution at a time.

Today, we’re proud (and a little overwhelmed) to say: you answered that call in style.

£735,687 has been raised from more than 400 investors, making this the biggest ever watertech crowdfund on Republic Europe. We’re beyond grateful to everyone who got behind Watergate – from our earliest believers to those who joined in the final days. You’ve backed not just a company, but a mission.

This raise forms part of our wider £2 million Pre-Series A, which is close to finalising and includes a range of strategic investors. With your support, we’re now in the strongest position yet to scale Watergate and take on one of the most urgent challenges of our time.

Why this matters

Every single day, over 3 billion litres of water are lost to leaks in England and Wales alone. Climate pressures and ageing infrastructure are making the problem worse. And too often, people don’t realise there’s a leak until it’s done thousands of pounds’ worth of damage.

We think it’s time for a smarter approach.

Our solution brings together:

• Sonic – an intelligent leak detection and shut-off device

• The Watergate app – putting water insight in the palm of your hand

• Smart dashboards – helping businesses cut waste, cost, and carbon

And it’s working. In partnership with landlords like Greystar, London Square, and Hestia, we’ve identified up to 68% water savings in large buildings.

What’s next?

We’re now putting this funding to work. Over the coming months, we’ll be:

• Expanding our direct-to-consumer presence

• Accelerating adoption across UK and European property portfolios

• Getting ready to launch in the US, leveraging the contacts we’ve made through the BREW Accelerator in Milwaukee and GROW London in Los Angeles

• Continuing to innovate and integrate with other smart water tools and platforms
